Open Office is an alternative to Microsoft Office.  Its advantage for your prsentation is that you can use most video formats with it, which you can't do with Powerpoint.  It's free too!

Research guidance PDF

Please see me to save this file.  It's a bit big to copy and paste on to the blog.  It has lots of examples of possible research topics and shows you the format for the presentation script and the annotated catalogue.

The small-scale research project

The project is designed to develop research skills. It will be based on focus film making appropriate reference to at least two other related films.

Candidates will establish an area of investigation that relates the chosen
focus film to one of the following frameworks:
• star/performer
• genre
• auteur (in its broadest sense)
• social, political and cultural studies
• gender issues
• ethnicity
• institution
• technology

Candidates will be required to carry out a small-scale research project.
